Cinnamon Rolls
- For the Dough
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 ¼ tsp yeast (1 packet)
- ¼ cup sugar
- 3 cups flour (plus extra as needed)
- For the Filling:
- 4 tbsp softened butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Activate the Yeast:
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Mix well and let it sit for 1–2 minutes until it starts to bubble—this means the yeast is activated. - Make the Dough:
Add the flour gradually and mix until you get a shaggy dough. If it’s too wet, add extra flour, one tablespoon at a time. - Knead the Dough:
Knead for about 5 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and slightly sticky. If it’s too wet, add a little more flour and keep kneading till it forms a soft ball. The dough should not stick to clean hands when touched. - First Rise:
Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise for 30–45 minutes until it doubles in size. - Roll Out the Dough:
Lightly flour your surface and roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. It doesn’t have to be perfect. - Add the Filling:
Spread the softened butter all over the dough. In a small cup, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered surface. - Roll and Cut:
Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log. Use a sharp knife to cut it into 12 even pieces. - Second Rise:
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 15 minutes to ensure they’re soft and fluffy. - Bake:
Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. - Cool and Top:
Let the rolls cool slightly before adding your topping—cream cheese frosting, buttercream, or a drizzle of melted chocolate. You can even enjoy it without the frosting!.
Enjoy your homemade cinnamon rolls! 😊✨
